We must acknowledge it – our debut at the Gulfood Show was long overdue! Despite having clients in the Gulf region, a combination of COVID-related challenges and Katerina’s pregnancies had kept us from experiencing Dubai during its most iconic time of the year for us – GULFOOD!
Here are our top 5 moments from this memorable trip:
- Commencing the first day of the Show with a delightful sip of sparkling tea, exclusively crafted for Michelin Star restaurants. Luckily, the brand recently introduced an equally delectable line that will soon be accessible to retailers seeking premium non-alcoholic beverages.
- Indulging in as much 24-month aged Grana Padano as possible. With the Consortium present, we explored various Grana Padano cheeses, with the “riserva” one leaving an unforgettable impression. We stumbled upon a remarkable producer with multiple taste awards, eagerly anticipating the first shipment!
- Stumbling upon powdered yogurt was the big surprise of the Show. Picture a sachet containing powdered yogurt. Simply place it in a cup, add water, stir, and voila – you have authentic Greek yogurt ready to savor! Utilizing the freeze-drying method, it retains the true essence of yogurt, and we absolutely loved it!
- Strolling the Show with our clients became the highlight for us. There’s nothing more enjoyable than navigating the Show alongside our clients, aiding them in exploration and decision-making. The efficiency in seamlessly taking over the entire process ensures our clients can swiftly stock their shelves post-show, making the visit highly successful for them and deeply gratifying for us.
- Concluding the trip with a dinner featuring magnificent views at Asia Pier 7 in Dubai Marina was a perfect finale. Despite an early morning flight back home, we couldn’t resist accepting the invitation for a late dinner from a dear friend and colleague. Thanks to him, we had the most splendid grand finale for our trip! If you find yourself in Dubai, be sure to reserve a balcony table at Asia next time!
We’ve returned home and are now gearing up to initiate follow-ups and process the first post-show orders. Rest assured, we’ll be making a comeback in 2025!
